Yooper Sunshine Garden Kit

A good variety of plants that are Yooper-tough from all UP seed.  This mix of plants will provide flowers, food, and habitat for a variety of beneficial local insects, pollinators, and birds.  Meant for full to part sun and regular to medium-dry soil.  Plants included:
 
Hairy Beardtounge
Black Eyed Susan (a hardy biennial that readily reseeds)
Lance Leaf Coreopsis
Rock Harlequin (a beautiful annual or biennial that readily reseeds)
Pale Purple Coneflower
Northern, Rough, or Prairie Blazing Star
Stiff, Early, or Gray Goldenrod
Bergamot
Grey-headed Coneflower
Big Bluestem grass
Blue Vervain
 
Kit includes 2 to 4 of each plant.  Plants don't always grow as quickly as we hope, so substitutions are possible.  These are our first choice for genuine yooper substitutions, and you can also use this list to suppliment your garden: Little Bluestem grass, Spiderwort, Prairie Sage, New England Aster, Hairy Goldenrod, Pussytoes, Yarrow, Evening Primrose, Smooth Blue Aster, and Harebell.
 
This economical kit includes 38 plugs that fill 38 square feet at 1 foot spacing - a 4'x9.5' bed; or up to 86 square feet at 1.5 sq. ft. spacing - a 6'x14' bed. Comes with a planting guide. Each plant is individually tagged for identification and all tags include height so you can alter the layout to suit your space. These are the intended species, but substitutions may be necessary depending on germination and growing conditions. Note that the picture is an example of our plants in a plug tray. We don't have pictures of this actual mix yet and it will differ from the picture.
